Slumdog Millionaire

Yesterday, I watched a film called “Slumdog Millionaire”. This was an extraordinary film. It has won 8 oscars, another 87 wins, and 33 nominations. From the beginning to the end, I was fully engaged. In this movie, Jamal, the main character, is on a game show called “Who wants to be a millionaire”. He was born on the streets, so when he gets to the final question, police suspect that he is cheating, since this kind of boy couldn’t possibly know this much. So, the movie shows all of his lifetime flashbacks of what happened to him. My favorite scene was where Jamal was in the restroom, doing his thing. But then, a movie star comes and his brother locks him inside the restroom. It turns out, Jamal had to jump in this pool of poop to go and get the movie star’s signature. I love the reality of the film, showing how India can really be. I had never thought of it that way. I also enjoyed the music, how different types of music fit different scenes. From this movie, I learned how thankful I should be to have a shelter to live in, food to eat, and clothes to wear. From the beginning, I had really taken many things for granted. But in this movie, the sudden realization of how hard it is to survive really struck me. Before I watched this movie, I hadn’t expected it to be this good. Exhilarating! Magnificent! I urge all of you who have not watched this movie to watch it now!
